Generally dryer manufacturers recommend that you replace the hi-limit thermostat when you replace the thermal fuse.

1. Is there a problem with the surface element switch?

If your range has a coil type surface element, try pulling out the element and plugging it into another element of the same size. If it works in the other socket, replace the surface element switch. If it works, see below.

2. Is the coil surface element working properly?

If your range has a coil type surface element, try pulling out the element and plugging it into another element of the same size. If it fails in the other socket, replace the coil element. If it works in the other socket replace the switch (see above). Make sure the element is pushed all the way into the socket.

3. Is there a problem with the solid surface element?

If your range has a surface type element and it’s not heating, replace the surface element.aph here.
